It's really different to everything they've done. It's like learning to walk on one leg isn't it because we're not used to them singing a song by Nick Jarl. It's a weird feeling knowing the Victory writers are not involved in it (apart from Dan's producing of course)

I'm extremely impressed. Heard it twice now. I need to read all the lyrics, but there are some stand outs I#m already running round my stupid head. Catchy is what was needed. Great for their voices — the writer absolutely knows what he's doing! Very special!

From John and Edward's twitlonger:
Lyrics
WATERLINE
Flood gates, can’t wait Here she comes, shut’em fast Better shut’em fast Too late swept away Feel the rush after the fact
Coming up beneath me Never been in love so Deeply before
I am close to the waterline I though that I’d been over my head For the last time I’m so close to the waterline And the way I’m loving her now I know this is bound to go down as the big one.
Whistle blast, lights flash Throw a rope! grab a hold Feel the undertow She laughs waves crash What’s the use I can’t let her go
Coming up beneath me Never been in love so Deeply before
I am close to the waterline I though that I’d been over my head For the last time I’m so close to the waterline And the way I’m loving her now I know this is bound to go down as the big one.
Too late swept away I feel the rush I can’t let her go
Loving it loving it really and indeedy!

I 'thoughT' not I though. They sing it, not spell it. Don't ask permission, ask for forgiveness ...

I had only access via my smartphone to hear the song this afternoon and I was like okeee yeeah, cooool!! But now I'm listening to it via computer (loudspeakers full on) and it's even so much better! I doubt a tiny bit that it's as catchy as Lipstick BUT (and thats very important to me) the song is more grown-up and you can clearly see a development compared to last year's song. Now I am as excited about the performance (dance routine, live-sound) as I was about the song =

Just a quick note before i start work...
I love everything about this song. It sounded AMAZING on the radio, but I can also see lots of opportunities/themes regarding promotion and more importantly the performance. It may not fall into the "typically eurovision" category but I think it it will do very very VERY well indeed.

I love the song very much. It deserve a worldwide success . Its a pop song can compete with one direction or any other song in the chart. But im worried. Linda Martin said the twins will not stand there and sing?I dont want any backing vocals it will drown them, or only 2. Can they get swan lake ballerina lolz - Anyways, the new song will make the people look and listen twice, coz its a very different Jedward from Lipstick last year. Its shown maturity & their voices blend well .

People (and I mean non-jedfans) are commenting on how serious this song is and how it's not a "gimmick" or "joke". I really think that not only will the song get votes from Jedward fans but other Irish listeners too. I think the Jury might be nicer to us too.
If we take all that into consideration, we just might win the thing. Just hope when the boys perform they don't put of the non-jedheads.

Waterline! Ok, some thoughts: - I love the hints of 1960s golden surf pop - the big drums and the close vocal harmonies.
- The Jeds haven't had a song with harmonies like that before. One good thing about it - it will give the backing singers an obvious role so h8rs won't think the singers are carrying J&E.
- And the song really works well with their vocal strengths, so I don't think they'll need backing singers to cover them in places, like with Lipstick. Instead the other singers will complement their voices.
- There's a lot of colour and variation in the song, big bold bits, sweet tender bits, and bits in between. This is good, as Eurovision is, after all, a song contest.
- This is also going to give their choreographer a lot of work with, both in the small Eurosong set and (fingers crossed) in the giant Eurovision arena.
- Even though J&E (probably) haven't experienced that big love feeling for one special mermaid, the emotions in the song seem a lot more realistic than the high drama of Lipstick.
- Every time I listen to it, I smile.

Lol yeah - can't imagine John OR Edward cheating on a girl can you.

I wld love to see them performing this with their hair down but its not gonna happen !!

What's your favourite lines? I probably like the end of the second verse ("waves crash What’s the use I can’t let her go") best, because it has kinda dramatic increase

"Feel the rushhhhhhhhhhhh" how long does it take for Edward to finish that line lol (think it's Edward anyways)
You know.... I can tell the difference in their looks but I still struggle with their singing voices

I can tell the difference in their looks but I still struggle with their singing voices I think both of them sing that part but the "rushhhhhh" it's mainly John's voice. I'd say the song it's something like: John / Edward / Together Flood gates, can't waitHere she comes, shut 'em fast Better shut 'em fast Too late, swept away Feel the rush after the fact Coming up beneath me Never been in love so Deeply before I am close to the waterline I thought that I'd been over my head For the last time I'm so close to the waterline And the way I'm loving her now I know this is bound to go down as the big one. Anyway I wouldn't be surprised if both of them sang the whole song as they did with Lipstick.
